Meat Processing Training Resources

Project Commencement Date: April 2026

Project Completion Date: April 2027

Project Description:

This Skills Insight Jobs and Skills Council (JSC) project, delivered in partnership with MINTRAC, will review existing training and assessment resources and develop new supporting materials for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) delivering Certificate II qualifications within the AMP Australian Meat Processing Training Package.

Following substantial revisions introduced in Release 9.0 in February 2026 and subsequent corrections in Release 9.1, existing training and assessment resources no longer fully align with the updated qualifications and units of competency.

The project aims to support RTOs in delivering the revised qualifications by providing updated, industry-relevant resources that help trainers maintain their knowledge and develop learner guides where appropriate.

Project Deliverables:

The project will review existing training and assessment supporting materials and develop a suite of updated resources aligned with the revised Certificate II qualifications in the AMP Australian Meat Processing Training Package.

This includes developing supporting materials for new and revised units of competency, addressing gaps in existing resources and ensuring materials reflect current industry requirements.

A Subject Matter Experts Working Group (SMEWG) will provide technical and industry input throughout the project. Draft resources will be released for broader industry consultation, with feedback sought on technical accuracy, coverage of unit requirements and compliance with the Standards for RTOs.

Following consultation and review, the resources will be finalised and prepared for approval and publication.
