A trainees' guide to meat processing traineeships
Getting support during your traineeship
The best way to make sure you get the most from your training is to find out as much information as you can about traineeships and training in the meat industry. Following are some ideas and strategies to help you make informed choices about your training and to create a career in the meat industry.
Keeping up with your training
The document below may help you keep a record of your training. Ask your Trainer for help filling in any areas you are unsure of. The document can also be used to keep a record of any other training you may have completed outside of your qualification and would look good in a resume or CV.
My training record (Word document).
The document is in Word format so it can easily be modified and saved onto your own computer. The original document is a general guide only, feel free to edit the document to better suit your needs. Your Trainer might have some good ideas on how to change the training record so that it works for you.
To save the edited document go to "Save as" in the File menu and choose the appropriate location on your computer. You can either print out the training record and fill in the information by hand, or use the document as an electronic record by filling in the details using your computer. The advantage of a computerised document is that you can regularly update the record and it is harder to lose or misplace than a paper copy.
