MINTRAC Welcomes Clare Winkel to the Board of Directors

MINTRAC is pleased to announce the appointment of Clare Winkel to the MINTRAC Board of Directors.

Clare brings more than 45 years of experience across the food industry, including extensive work in both the meat and seafood processing sectors. She is currently Director of Technical Solutions at Integrity Compliance Solutions and has held senior roles across industry, research and government.

As a service delivery partner to the Skills Insight Jobs & Skills Council (JSC), MINTRAC has led meat processing industry consultation, training package management and workforce capability development for more than 30 years. Building on this foundation, MINTRAC’s role has expanded to include workforce capability development across the Australian post-harvest seafood processing sector.

Clare’s appointment to the Board will support this work by strengthening MINTRAC’s capability in the seafood sector, enhancing industry engagement and contributing to the development of sector knowledge, including the identification of key challenges and opportunities, and strengthening connections with relevant industry networks.

Clare’s career spans roles across research, industry and government. Her experience includes work with CSIRO’s meat research laboratory, AUS-MEAT, Teys Australia, Woolworths and the Queensland Department of Primary Industries, as well as international experience as a verification auditor in the United States. She also spent seven years working in the seafood industry in Alberta, Canada.

Her qualifications include an MBA (Seafood Management), a Bachelor of Applied Science and an Export Management Diploma. Clare is a certified National Food Safety Auditor, a registered SQF Food Safety Auditor and holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE). She is also an accredited Seafood Alliance trainer in the United States and a Packaging Institute trainer and auditor in the United Kingdom. Clare is internationally recognised for her expertise in food safety, training and auditing, and has presented at global industry forums and contributed to industry research.

The Board of MINTRAC welcomes Clare as a Director and looks forward to the contribution she will make to the organisation.

“Clare is a significant addition to the solid skill base of the MINTRAC Board, being widely experienced in applying food safety disciplines in numerous food sectors, both within Australia and internationally. I have no doubt her knowledge and expertise will considerably enhance the reputation of MINTRAC’s service offerings to industry.”
- John Salter, Chair, MINTRAC
